Hawaii has five counties. Each county has its own district health office, newspapers, and funeral homes that hold Hawaii obituary data. The State Department of Health on Oahu issues death certificates for every county. Obituary notices are printed by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, The Maui News, Hawaii Tribune-Herald, and The Garden Island.
